The situation
Where they started
Kim Wells teaches two live classes on Zoom every weekend, gentle flow yoga on Saturday and Pilates matwork on Sunday, and records every one so members can practise again whenever it suits them. Her website was a WordPress yoga theme with a membership plugin, an image slider and a shop basket, and its footer still said 2021.
The challenge
What it was costing them
With no reception desk or timetable on a wall, the website is the studio: it's where a new member decides, and it's the only place the recordings live. The home page opened with a stock slider and put the price and timetable in one sentence part-way down. It also took 4.5 MB to load. The library was the harder problem. Kim wanted it organised the way she teaches, with up to 75 classes on each shelf and a new pair every weekend, and she needed to be able to run it herself, alongside Vimeo, where her classes already are.
The approach
How we worked through it
A mark drawn from Kim's own words
A lengthened spine inside a breath-shaped ellipse, with a point at the crown, taken from her line “Each session should leave you feeling a little taller.” When she later asked for lavender and lime, the whole site changed from one set of colour settings.
Ten pages that sell the weekend class
Home, about, classes, pregnancy, pricing, stories, FAQ and contact. Kim's three prices come from one source, so the cards, FAQ, terms and footer can never disagree.
A library organised the way she teaches
Members get the weekend's recordings, Kim's notices, a library they can filter by length, favourites and a practice record. Progress comes from Vimeo's own player, so a class counts as done when it's actually watched.
Kim runs it herself
Paste a Vimeo link to add a class, or a whole shelf at once. The weekend's pair replaces last week's. Kim creates, pauses and reopens members herself, and keeps private notes on injuries. There's deliberately no public sign-up for now.
Her real classes, and nothing hidden
We imported her real classes from Vimeo and flagged what we found instead of papering over it: 16 videos only play on approved websites, some share links broke the player (now fixed), and there are no pregnancy recordings yet, so those shelves stay empty rather than filled with stock footage.
The result
What changed
Kim has a site that looks like her and a library she controls, and adding next weekend's recordings takes a couple of minutes. (Figures measured by us on 29 Sep 2026; three classes still need timing, so the minutes are a floor. No sign-up figures yet, because the new site hasn't replaced the old one on Kim's domain.)
What's next
The relationship carries on
When Kim is ready, the new site moves onto kimwellspilates.com and the portal's address is approved in Vimeo so every class plays. There's space for 512 classes, the pregnancy shelves fill as she records them, and we host, patch and back it all up every night.
